On my way to Florence! Just a short layover in the Milan, Italy train station.
This was by far the coolest train station I’ve seen. It was so big and beautiful.
A look outside the train station in Milan.
Finally made it to Florence after being on a train for 12 hours. This is the Duomo (the Cathedral in Florence that the entire city is built around)
The Duomo was HUGE
A quick look inside. It’s kinda hard to see, but there is a large mural on the ceiling in the back of the Cathedral. Unfortunately it was closed off, so this was all I could see of it.
When in Italy, you have to get Gelato. Grace took me to her favorite Gelato spot! I got three flavors: chocolate on the bottom, vanilla in the middle, and chocolate hazelnut on top. It was amazing, ESPECIALLY the cone!
We then went back to Grace’s apartment. She lived in the heart of the city, just a minute or two walk from the Duomo.
A look inside her apartment
Dinner time! We got heart-shaped pizzas!
Walking through the market
Grace showed me where she attends her cooking class. It was RIGHT above the market. The room is surrounded by glass windows, so people just stand outside and watch. Sounds a little nerve-racking if you ask me.
Just wandering around the city. I honestly don’t really remember what building this was, but it is very beautiful.
Grace cooked me lunch
I didn’t want to pay 30 euros to see the real David… But I got to see a replica of it instead!
There were other statues in the courtyard… and they were all a bit creepy. This is one of a beheading.
Some street artists!
They are very very beautiful.
Getting Gelato again…. I got gelato from this place every single day. It was so good.
Heading up to see the panoramic view of the city.
Everyone was just sitting there eating, drinking wine, and listening to the guitarist sing and play music.
Watching the sunset
Dinner! I forget what it’s called, but its basically seasoned tomatoes on bread. It doesn’t sound amazing, but OHHH it was.
Decided to spend the morning of my last day in Pisa.
Wandering through the city.
Trying to find the Leaning Tower….
I found it!
It was a lot smaller than I thought it would be.
Everyone was taking the stereotypical pictures of themselves holding up the tower.
Of course, I had to join in.
Made it back to Florence. And of course, I had to get Gelato.
We decided to chillax at a bar and get a spritzer!
They tasted as good as they looked 🙂
Grace made us dinner! This was one of the meals she learned how to make in her cooking class. The noodles were big and she got offended when I said we should just break them up. Supposedly, that is NOT allowed. Oops….
